Return to Fayetteville Tour: A Broken Recollection (Part 3)

11/12/11 Day 6: Candy Lee and Jeff Kearney @ Greenhouse Grille, Fayetteville, AR

My show at Savor was cancelled, as sadly, the restaurant had closed. Savor had been a good regular gig for me when I lived in Fayetteville, and the folks there wer always good to me. In my absence of a gig, the kind folks at Greenhouse Grille let me play for food and tips. (David and I had the infamous black bean burger, shiitake mushroom fries, sweet potato fries, and magic ketchup). Jeff Kearney of the 1 Oz Jig came out and played a few tunes too. It was our "NAMA Best Singer/Songwriter of 2011 Night," as both Jeff and I had won the award for our respective genders last year. Always nice to hear Jeff play.

11/13/11 Day 7: Reunion Party/Show @ Greenhouse Grille, Fayetteville, AR

The Sweets and I had our "Reunion Party" at Greenhouse Grille, which is where I used to work and also where we played my going away show/party. I love the Greenhouse Grille. Not only do they have amazing food, but also a great care for the community, and try their best to practice ethical, sustainable, healthy methods in all aspects of the restaurant. Greenhouse Grille became my second home, and my coworkers and the owners became like family. It holds many good memories for me, and so it was very special for the Sweets and I to perform there again.

We had the party on a Sunday night, a night in which the restaurant is usually closed, but open for special events. We played on the big stage and Carter Sampson was our opener. (So nice to hear her again.) I had some hummus and falafels, organic soda, and delicious hard apple cider. It was a nice night, where I got to see some old friends, eat some good food, and feel at home again.

11/14/11 Day 8: Party @ Andi K's, Fayetteville, AR

Andi K and her daughter Itali have to be my biggest fans. I love them whole heartedly, and they have become dear friends. Andi K threw a party for me at her place. It was a small gathering, in which we had a vegan potluck, a bonfire outside, and a singalong in Itali's bedroom. It was a very cool experience for me to play in Itali's bedroom, as she, Freya (Jenny's daughter, and another of my biggest fans), and my other friends sang along to the Spider Song, and Sweet Music. I also played a new song for them on ukulele, which is about friendship. It was a relaxing, low key night in which I thoroughly enjoyed the presence of my friends.

11/15/11 Day 9: Rest day. Once again, a cancelled show occurred. But it was good, because  I needed a day to rest, and David and I got to visit another dear friend of ours, and enjoye dinner at his house.
