11/18/11 Day 12: Under the Couch, Atlanta, GA
My show at Under the Couch, in Atlanta GA was probably my favorite show of the tour. Under the Couch is a venue located on the campus of Georgia Tech Univeristy, and is run by the students. I began the night of music, and was followed by Unawerewolves and Mon Valley. The venue was an open room with a decent sized stage, and a few couches near the back. It was nothing fancy- not a whole lot of decoration in the place, no bar attached, no drinks, no food. Just a place to hear some music. And this was the awesome thing about it. People come out to the venue for one reason- they came to listen. I sang my heart out to a completely attentive audience. The students running the sound and lighting were very professional. It was probably the best sound system I played on during the tour. The bands that followed me that night were great. Mon Valley brought out the majority of the audience. They had a guy and girl singer, which is a combination I always enjoy. One of their band members, I believe the bassist, proposed to his girlfriend on stage. Though I didn't know them, it was pretty touching.

11/20/11 Day 14: Lulu's Chocolate Bar, Savannah, GA
My last stop was in Savannah, GA, at a place called Lulu's Chocolate Bar. They have an array of chocolatey desserts and martinis. It is a small, narrow venue, that I had played at on my previous tour. They have art on the wall by local artists, that changes periodically. This time, there was a star wars theme to the paintings, done by various artists. It was a normal restaurant gig for me, in which I played for a few hours as folks came in and out of the Chocolate Bar, tipping me and buying merch if they like what they heard. I always do pretty good there. I just wish I knew more people in Savannah that I could bring out to the venue. In time, hopefully I will. Another thing I like about Lulu's is they always send me home with chocolate. The only two vegan desserts they have are chocolate covered strawberries and dark chocolate truffles, but at least they have some. I'm allergic to strawberries, so I gave them to my husband and roommates when I returned home, and at the truffles myself. They were very tasty.
